The experiences we create are as slow-cooked as Teta's kabab Hallah — designed around the techniques and stories of the Egyptian kitchen.
Along the way, we keep asking ourselves: What would an all-Egyptian but aesthetic brunch look like? What would happen if we chase Egypt's food print through Tetas? How can we teach others to make Teta's rokak...
Port Said doesn't let you stay at the surface for long. Our tour explored Port Said through its people — the stories that live inside of them, about the Canal, the war, the siege, the pride, and about individuals.
Two Grandmas, Two Tables was a full-day cultural journey from Cairo to Port Said. We explored what Port Said eats through our local grandmother Teta Hala, and brought some of Cairo's home-cooked dishes to the mix through Teta Loula.
What we experienced
There is a specific, nostalgic magic to Alexandria in June that isn't comparable to anywhere else. For our second journey of the summer, we visited Alexandrian culinary royalty: Teta Anan.
Teta Anan is the matriarch of one of Alexandria's most legendary food heritages — the wife of the late Mohamed Ahmed, the founder of the city's most iconic foul institution. For one day only, Teta Anan opened her heart, her memory archive, and her signature family recipes to our intimate table.
This experience is over but we'll be back. Join the WhatsApp community to hear first.
Join the communityLearn to make Egypt's most beloved Eid cookie directly from Teta Loula. Her recipe has been made the same way for over 50 years. You'll leave with dough under your nails, powdered sugar on your shirt, and a tin of Kahk to take home.

All events are announced in our WhatsApp community first — before Instagram, before anywhere else. It's the only way to guarantee you hear in time.
Seats are limited to maintain the intimacy of a true family gathering. Book early — they fill quickly.
Everything is cooked by Teta. Bring an appetite, an open heart, and someone you want to share a meal with.
We'll hopefully be exploring even more of Egypt. Where do you want us next?
